what is a good beginner's saltwater fish that can withstand inevitable marine water parameter mistakes.

how difficult are clownfish to take care of?

most of what we stock in the store are good beginner saltwater fish

clownfish (we only carry captive-raised) are one of the best

other good picks (as far as being hardy) are
chalk bass (one of my favorites)
twin-spot hogs (another of my favorites, kind of hard to get)
hawksfish (although they can become aggressive)
damsels (although they can become aggressive)
triggers
yellow tangs
hamlets
groupers (most get BIG)
eels
Lionfish (usually easy, although POISONOUS)
all the Basslets, Pseudochromis
,many others
