I recently acquired a new pleco for my 75 gal tank. I noticed that the pleco is not cleaning the glass any longer, and stays on the driftwood I have in there, or hides in shadows. After observing closely, I noticed that the three silver dollars I have bite the tail of the pleco every time he is on the glass.
The silver dollars are the oldest and largest fish in the tank, the largest being 4 inches and 10 years old, the youngest being 1-2 years old and 3 inches. In addition, I have 2 clown loaches, 2 emerald green cory cats, 2 bala sharks, and 4 sunburst platys. These fish are the recent additions, since I started with the dollars in a 20 gallon and upgraded. Everyone gets along, except the dollars and the pleco.
Is this common? I don't mind cleaning the glass, I just want the pleco to be able to eat. The silver dollars also eat anything I put down (sinking wafers, etc) for the cats, loaches, and plecos.
Any advice?
