Dear Uncle Ned,
I have a 75 gal freshwater tank that has been set up for about 2 months. The water has a slight haze to it. The lights are on for about 9 hours/day. I do a 20% water change weekly, and do not over feed. I have a Magnum 350 for filtration plus a power head and airstone for circulation.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get the water to clear. Thank you.

IS THE HAZE GREEN OR WHITE?

DO YOU HAVE 1 40WATT BULB OR 2 40WATT BULBS?
DEPENDING ON THE KIND OF FISH, YOU COULD ADD LIVE PLANTS,
THAT WOULD USE UP SOME OF THE LIGHT THE GREEN WATER LIKES.

I SUGGEST
YOU CHANGE 90% OF THE WATER,
ADD SOME SERA AQUATAN TO CONDITION THE NEW TAP WATER,
ADD A BAG OF UNCLE NED'S GOOD DIRTY WATER,
ADD A SMALL AMMOUNT OF KENT PRO CLEAR,
& ADD SOME LIVE PLANTS.

Thank you for the reply. The haze is white, and I have 2 40 watt bulbs. Would the the live plants help with the white haze, and do I have enough lighting for them. Thanks again.

We have lots of plants that will do well with 80 watts.
Also, I bet you are cleaning your filter too often...
dirty filter = clean water.
